HANOI -- Vietnam posted a gross domestic product (GDP) growth at 5.05 percent in 2023, short of the National Assembly's target of 6.5 percent, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO) on Friday.
The sector of agriculture, forestry and fishery grew 3.83 percent, while industry and construction rose 3.74 percent, with services up 6.82 percent. (Vietnam-GDP)

YANGON -- Myanmar exported 175,990 tons of rice and broken rice in November this year, according to data released by the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) on Friday.
The figure decreased from 264,037 tons of rice and broken rice exported in November last year, the MRF data showed.
The exports of rice and broken rice in November included 94,203 tons of rice and 81,787 tons of broken rice. (Myanmar-Rice Export-November)

SEOUL -- South Korea's unsold homes fell for the ninth successive month in November as local builders refrained from new home construction amid the sluggish housing market, government data showed Friday.
The number of unsold homes nationwide stood at 57,925 at the end of November, down 0.6 percent from a month earlier, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The unsold houses began to increase from about 14,000 in late 2021 due to higher borrowing costs, but the number stayed downward for the ninth month amid a low supply of new homes. (South Korea-Unsold Homes-November)

WARSAW -- Poland has received a first payment of 5 billion euros (5.53 billion U.S. dollars) from the REPowerEU plan, the country's Minister for Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pelczynska-Nalecz announced on Thursday.
The funding comes as part of Poland's National Reconstruction Plan (KPO), for which it is due to receive a total of 59.8 billion euros from the European Union (EU). (Poland-EU-Fund) ■
