KINSHASA -- Heavy rains hit overnight Tuesday Bukavu, capital of South Kivu Province in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), causing floods and landslides and killing at least 40 people, local authorities said Wednesday.

At least 20 people were found dead in Bukavu and 20 more were killed in the surrounding village of Burhinyi, according to the provincial governor's office. (DRC-Rain)

BEIRUT -- Three Lebanese civilians were killed on Wednesday at dawn in an Israeli raid on their house in Lebanon's southern town of Bint Jbeil.

Lebanese military sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Xinhua that an Israeli warplane fired two air-to-surface missiles at a civilian house in the center of Bint Jbeil, killing three members of a family and wounding a fourth one. (Israel-South Lebanon-Raid)

HOUSTON -- Six people, including two kids aged 9 and 10, were killed and three others hospitalized after a head-on crash along a highway in the south central U.S. state of Texas, Tuesday evening, according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) on Wednesday.

The dead, aged from 9 to 64 years old, were all riding in one of the two cars involved in the crash, the DPS said, adding that the three hospitalized sustained critical injuries. (US-Accident)
