HANOI, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's economy will grow 4.7 percent in 2023 and 5 percent in 2024, according to the latest economic insight report for Southeast Asia, commissioned by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and Oxford Economics.
It forecasted a bright medium-term outlook for the country's economy, but the overall growth will still be well below the pre-pandemic trend of 7 percent, the online newspaper VietnamNet reported Wednesday.
Despite below-trend growth in 2023 and 2024, the report said Vietnam's miracle growth story probably hasn't ended yet.
The Southeast Asian country has emerged as a key winner amid the global supply chain reshuffling and its share of global goods exports should increase further over the medium term, according to the report.
Vietnam has set economic growth target at 6.0-6.5 percent in 2024. ■
