GENEVA, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced Wednesday that the top 12 teams in the world rankings at the end of 2023 will qualify for the 2024 Premier12 tournament.
World No. 1 Japan leads the qualified teams, with Mexico, the United States, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Australia and Puerto Rico also qualifying for baseball's biggest international tournament.
The 2024 WBSC Premier12 will take place from November 10 to 24. South Korea won the first edition of the tournament in 2015 and Japan are the defending champions.
The 12 teams will be divided into two groups, and the top two of each group advance to the Super Round. ■
