HANOI, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam Electricity (EVN) has proposed importing wind power from neighboring Laos to Vietnam's central province of Quang Tri, local media reported Wednesday.
In a report sent to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, the EVN said several wind power investors in Laos have shown interest in selling electricity to Vietnam, media reports said.
According to the ministry, the EVN has signed 19 deals to buy electricity from 26 Lao power plants, and among them, the Truong Son Wind Power Plant is expected to start operation in the fourth quarter of 2025. ■
