BUCHAREST, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Romanian President Klaus Iohannis promulgated a law on Tuesday, establishing the National Program for Securing Immovable Cultural Heritage at Risk (PNSP).
Managed by the National Institute of Heritage, the program aims to annually secure 100 historical monuments facing advanced degradation across Romanian counties, including the capital city Bucharest.
The list of designated projects is formulated by the Directorate of Cultural Heritage, ensuring at least two historical monuments for each county and a minimum of four for Bucharest.
To address additional vulnerable sites, up to 100 unassigned places will be distributed among the counties ranking in the top 14 positions on the list of historical monuments.
The government is poised to approve methodological norms for the development and execution of the cultural heritage program within three months from the law's effective date. ■
