TORONTO, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young scored 38 points and dished out 11 assists in a 125-104 win on Friday night to end their season-worst five-game losing streak.
The 25-year-old All-Star connected on seven 3-pointers to reach the 30-point mark for the eighth time over the last 11 matches. During this streak, Young is averaging 32.0 points, 4.5 three-pointers and 10.5 assists per game.
"We're learning, we're growing. We're not satisfied," said Young after the win. "We know it's a long game and got to continue to stay level-headed."
After falling to Toronto 135-128 two nights earlier while being outrebounded 47-42, Atlanta head coach Quin Snyder promoted fourth-year big man Onyeka Okongwu to the starting lineup alongside center Clint Capela.
The change paid dividends as Okongwu grabbed 11 rebounds and added 14 points for his second double-double of the season. Capela also had a double-double with a season-best 18 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
"They did a good job the other night. Tonight we decided to start them," Snyder explained. "Those two guys really made it work."
Hawks forward Saddiq Bey added another double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Atlanta outrebounded Toronto 55-32, including 16-3 on offensive rebounds. As a result, they attempted 101 field goals compared to Toronto's 77. ■
