MOSCOW, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Russia's foreign trade surplus in goods dropped to 109 billion U.S. dollars in the January-November period of 2023, a year-on-year decrease of 62.5 percent, the Central Bank of Russia said on Wednesday.

In the first 11 months of 2022, Russia's foreign trade surplus in goods amounted to 290.4 billion dollars, the bank said in a statement.

The current account surplus was 50.5 billion dollars in January-November 2023, down from 223 billion dollars in the same period of 2022, and the reduction was a result of a decrease in surplus of trade balance to 109 billion dollars, the bank said.

The country's exports declined by 154 billion dollars, while imports of goods grew by 27.4 billion dollars.

According to the bank, the deficit in the balance of services expanded by 9.6 billion dollars to 29 billion dollars year on year in the period from January to November this year.
