ULAN BATOR, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia will restrict electricity use in several areas of the country starting Thursday, Minister of Energy Battogtokh Choijilsuren said on Wednesday.
Noting that Russia will reduce the electricity supply from Wednesday for an indefinite period, Choijilsuren said, "We have to restrict the electricity consumption of consumers for three hours a day in the capital Ulan Bator and 150 soums (administrative subdivisions) of six provinces."
According to the Ministry of Energy, around 80 percent of the electricity supply is produced domestically, and 20 percent is imported. ■
