BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 jolted 230 km W of Puerto Chacabuco, Chile at 04:49:45 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 16.2 km, was initially determined to be at 45.76 degrees south latitude and 75.74 degrees west longitude. ■
