BEIJING, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 jolted South Sandwich Islands region at 0659 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 44.4 km, was initially determined to be at 59.69 degrees south latitude and 26.08 degrees west longitude. ■
