BEIJING, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Two of China's top academic institutions, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), held conferment ceremonies on Friday for their newly elected academicians.
In November this year, the CAS and the CAE elected 59 and 74 academicians respectively, the highest academic honorary title in the country's sci-tech fields.
The numbers of CAS and CAE academicians have since reached 873 and 978, respectively, after the election. ■
