BEIJING, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese police have arrested more than 50 suspects in a crackdown on major criminal cases in the field of securities and futures, which was jointly launched by the Ministry of Public Security and the China Securities Regulatory Commission.
The cases, involving over 9 billion yuan (about 1.27 billion U.S. dollars), include insider trading and malicious manipulation of securities and futures markets, said the ministry on Friday.
A number of relevant criminal gangs were also busted in the crackdown.
The crackdown has effectively safeguarded the order of the capital market and protected the legitimate rights and interests of investors. ■
