BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- A 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit the islands of Vanuatu at 8:56 p.m. Thursday (Beijing Time), said the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 20.70 degrees south latitude and 169.50 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 50 km, said the CENC. ■
