MEXICO CITY, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Diego Valdes and Julian Quinones scored twice each as Club America took a major step toward reaching the Liga MX Apertura final on Wednesday.
Valdes and Henry Martin struck early before Quinones and Valdez added second-half goals as Club America won 5-0 at San Luis in the first leg of their semifinal in the Apertura tournament.
The return fixture will be played at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on December 9.
The winner will advance to the final, to be played home and away on December 14 and 17.
The other semifinal between Pumas UNAM and Tigres UANL was scheduled to be played on Thursday. ■
