SINGAPORE, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The retail sales in Singapore fell 0.1 percent in October on a year-on-year basis, reversing the 0.8 percent growth in September, according to data released by the Department of Statistics on Tuesday.
The estimated total value of retail sales in October reached 4 billion Singapore dollars (2.98 billion U.S. dollars), including 13.1 percent from online retail sales, data showed.
Sales of recreational goods, furniture and household equipment, as well as department stores dropped in October, while food and alcohol sales recorded a year-on-year growth of 22 percent, according to the data. ■
