BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Facundo Colidio struck a dramatic stoppage time winner as River Plate advanced to the semifinals of Argentina's Primera Division on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Belgrano.
Salomon Rondon gave the hosts the lead just after the half-hour in their quarterfinal when he nodded home following Enzo Diaz's cross.
Belgrano equalized through Lucas Passerini, who latched onto Facundo Lencioni's cross with a header into the top-left corner.
But Diaz was again the provider as he set up Colidio to sweep home into the bottom left corner in the 94th minute.
"It would have meant nothing to play well today without winning," River manager Martin Demichelis said. "It's not easy to maintain a high level of performance every match, but we did what we had to do today against a very tough opponent."
The Buenos Aires side will meet Rosario Central in the semifinals next Sunday after the latter overcame Racing Club on penalties in their quarterfinal. ■
