SAO PAULO, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Six assailants were killed and eight arrested Saturday after a failed robbery at a vehicle dealership in Mato Grosso state, midwestern Brazil, authorities said.
The incident occurred in Varzea Grande, a municipality neighboring the state capital.
The assailants, who were armed, assaulted security guards at a dealership in a bid to steal 40 new cars.
Several police patrols arrived at the scene and a shootout ensued.
Two suspects died on site while four died at a medical emergency facility. Eight others were arrested, local media reported, citing police. ■
