RAMALLAH, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- At least three Palestinians were killed on Tuesday by the Israeli army during clashes in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
Among the dead was a 14-year-old teenager, who was sent to the Tubas Governmental Hospital for critical injuries due to gunfire by the Israeli army.
Ahmed Al Asaad, acting governor of Tubas, said that the teen was shot in the chest during Israeli forces' incursion into the town of Tayasir.
He added that the Israeli forces besieged a house in Tubas for several hours and fired a shell towards it, demanding the surrender of a youth.
The Israeli army said in a statement that its soldiers were carrying out "anti-terror operations" in Tubas, during which gunmen fired at the security forces, who responded with bullets.
The incident raised the number of Palestinian fatalities by Israeli gunfire on Tuesday to three.
Earlier, the Palestinian Health Ministry had announced the death of two young men by Israeli army gunfire during clashes in the town of Beitunia and the village of Kafr Ayn near Ramallah. ■
