AMMAN, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Jordan and Qatar hold a common position over pushing for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, protecting civilians, and ensuring the prompt, sufficient, and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave, said Jordan's Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh on Tuesday.

Khasawneh made the remarks at a meeting in the capital Amman with visiting Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, where both officials praised bilateral coordination and cooperation on the prompt and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

During the meeting, Khasawneh said the two countries agreed on finding a political horizon to achieve just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

The Jordanian official reviewed the kingdom's efforts to support the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, such as establishing a field hospital in southern Gaza's Khan Younis, another hospital in Nablus in the West Bank, sending five aid planes to Egypt's El Arish area for Gaza, conducting two airborne operations of medical and humanitarian aid to the military field hospital in Gaza, providing 40,000 tons of wheat, 15,000 tons of grains, 7 trucks of medicine, and others.

He stressed the continuation of these humanitarian efforts alongside the political and diplomatic endeavors aimed at stopping Israeli aggression.

Khasawneh also reiterated Jordan's rejection of any attempts leading to the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, which Jordan considers "a declaration of war."

For her part, the Qatari official voiced appreciation for Jordan's positions and its political, diplomatic, and humanitarian efforts toward ending the attacks on Gaza and addressing the Palestinian issue.

She said Qatar stands with Jordan in rejecting the forced displacement of Palestinians, as well as any change to the historical and legal status of Jerusalem, and supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinians on their land.
