VIENTIANE, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- The official website of Laos' ASEAN chairmanship in 2024 was launched during a conference on Friday to discuss its preparation.
Chaired by Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith, who is also deputy head of the National Steering Committee on Preparation and Implementation of ASEAN Chairmanship of Laos 2024, the meeting was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and organizations.
At the meeting, the national committee reviewed the preparation of urgent tasks, such as the improvement of roads and airports, traffic regulation, budget plan, meeting venues, communication and internet facilities, tourism destinations, accommodations and transportation for state and government leaders, delegates, and foreign journalists, among others.
Saleumxay stressed that the 14 sub-committees should continue to prepare their tasks with attention and responsibility to ensure the success of Laos' ASEAN Chairmanship. ■
