YANGON, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will hold the Mandalay International Trade Fair and Investment Forum 2023 in the second-largest city of Mandalay from Dec. 20 to Dec. 22, according to the Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday.
"It is the second time of the trade fair. A total of 262 booths will be included in the trade fair," U Win Htay, president of the Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told Xinhua on Tuesday.
The Mandalay International Trade Fair and Business Forum 2019 was held in Mandalay in March 2019.
Traders from China bought over 70 booths to display their products at the trade fair, and traders from Indonesia, Bangladesh, India and other countries will also participate in the event, he said.
The event is aimed at inviting international traders to visit Myanmar and sell their products, promoting hotels and tourism businesses, and facilitating business networks, he said.
The products that will be displayed at the trade fair will consist of foods, consumer products, cosmetics, medicines, agricultural machinery, motor vehicles and others, according to the Chamber of Commerce.
Mandalay, with a population of over 1.2 million people, is the second largest city in Myanmar and serves as a center for trade, production and logistics in upper Myanmar. ■
