RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Uruguayan forward Thiago Borbas scored a stoppage-time equalizer as Bragantino kept their title hopes flickering with a 2-2 home draw against Botafogo in Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.

Borbas gave his side the lead by bundling home from close range but the visitors equalized through Victor Sa's long-range effort.

Botafogo went ahead when Carlos Eduardo fired into the top-right corner after intercepting an errant defensive clearance.

The Rio de Janeiro outfit looked set to end a five-game winless run until Borbas put his side on level terms with a 96th-minute header.

The result leaves Bragantino fourth, a point behind second-placed Botafogo, who have endured a wretched run since mid-August when they held a 13-point lead at the top of the 20-team standings.

"This draw has a positive feel to it," Borbas said afterwards. "It was an intense match and we feel we did well to get something out of it. I hope I can keep doing my bit to help the team."

In other fixtures on Sunday, Atletico Mineiro secured a 2-1 home victory over Goias, Corinthians won 1-0 at Gremio, and Cuiaba edged to a 2-1 home win over Fortaleza.
