HANOI, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam aims to achieve Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of 6-6.5 percent and per capita GDP of 4,700-4,730 U.S. dollars next year, according to a resolution on socioeconomic development plan for 2024 approved by the National Assembly on Thursday.
With the majority of deputies voting yes, the resolution was passed giving priorities to maintaining macroeconomy, controlling inflation and ensuring major balances of the economy.
The country's consumer price index is expected to rise 4-4.5 percent and the manufacturing and processing sector will account for 24.1 to 24.2 percent of the country's GDP in 2024.
Vietnam also targets labor productivity growth at 4.8-5.3 percent next year.
It aims to keep unemployment rate in urban areas under 4 percent while the rate of poor households will decrease over 1 percent, according to the resolution. ■
