TOKYO, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Three men on Wednesday were found injured during a violent altercation reported in a western city of Japan's Tokyo Metropolis.

The incident took place around 4 a.m. local time near Hino Bridge spanning the Tama River in Hino city when an eyewitness called the police reporting that multiple people were being assaulted at the location, according to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

As police officers arrived at the scene, three men, estimated to be in their 20s to 30s, were found bleeding and lying unconscious at the riverside and nearby intersection.

All three were swiftly transported to a hospital, with one of them in critical condition and still unconscious, said the police.

Two individuals suspected of involvement in the assault case fled from the scene, authorities said. And the police department has identified this violent altercation as a clash between members associated with the same organized crime group.

Also on Wednesday morning, approximately 30 minutes after the incident, a man in his 30s linked to organized crime was discovered bleeding from his abdomen in a convenience store located about 1.3 km northeast of the scene, in Tachikawa city.

The police are also looking into any potential connection between the two incidents.
