BEIJING, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- A 5.4-magnitude earthquake jolted the city of Artux in Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 2:09 a.m. Wednesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 40.47 degrees north latitude and 77.72 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 10 km, said the CENC. ■
