ISLAMABAD, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) of Pakistan seized 1,079 kg of narcotics and arrested 45 drug peddlers in separate operations across the country in October, the ANF said in a statement on Thursday.
The ANF widened its trap around drug dealers across the country and conducted operations on reports by intelligence agencies in October, the statement said.
During separate actions in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, 152 kg of narcotics was recovered, and the ANF recovered 338 kg of drugs in crackdowns in southern Sindh province, the statement said.
Forty kg of narcotics was recovered from eastern Punjab province, and 507 kg of drugs was seized from southwestern Balochistan province, said the statement.
During separate operations in northern Gilgit Baltistan region, 42 kg of narcotics was recovered, the ANF said.
The ANF confiscated the recovered narcotics, and the nabbed drug pushers were investigated, the statement added. ■
