AMMAN, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Jordan on Tuesday sent six trucks of medical supplies to Palestinians via the King Hussein Bridge border crossing between Jordan and the West Bank, Jordan's state-run Petra News Agency reported.

Health Minister Firas Al-Hawari said Jordan sent these medical supplies to help Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip deal with the challenging circumstances and humanitarian crisis they are currently facing.

The Jordanian government also announced the King Hussein Cancer Center Initiative, which will help treat Gazan children with cancer when they are permitted to be relocated to the center.

Jordanian Minister of Government Communications Muhannad Mubaidin highlighted the importance of having a parallel avenue for transferring humanitarian aid into the besieged Palestinian enclave.

Two Jordanian planes carrying relief materials have already landed in Egypt, with relief supplies ready to make their way to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing, according to Petra.
