WELLINGTON, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand customs officers have made a record seizure of nearly 26 kg of methamphetamine found in the luggage of a foreigner over the weekend at major city Auckland's airport.
This is the largest quantity of drugs New Zealand Customs has found in an air passenger's luggage, surpassing the 19 kg of methamphetamine that was seized in May 2020, Customs Manager Auckland Airport Paul Williams said on Monday.
This amount of methamphetamine, which could have produced almost 1.3 million individual doses, would have been worth up to 9 million NZ dollars (5.25 million U.S. dollars) on New Zealand streets. ■
