NEW DELHI, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed and nearly 20 were injured in a blast in India's southern state of Kerala on Sunday, a government official told Xinhua over phone.
The blast took place inside a convention center in Kerala's Ernakulam district. The nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained.
A section of the media reported that there were multiple blasts. More details are awaited.
According to the latest reports, a team of the National Investigating Agency (NIA) has been rushed to the spot.
Expressing sadness at the incident, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that state government officials have been rushed to the area where the blast took place, to take stock of the situation. ■
