TEHRAN, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Thursday warned the United States will not be spared from the uncontrollable consequences should the killing in Gaza continue.

He made the remarks in an address to an emergency special session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on the Israel-Palestine conflict in New York, according to a statement released by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Amir-Abdollahian warned American policymakers "who are now managing the killing in Palestine" that if the attacks in Gaza continue, they will not be spared from this fire.

The United States, which has provided Israel with financial, military and political support, should be held accountable internationally.

He urged that the conflict in Gaza and the forced displacement of the coastal enclave's citizens must be stopped immediately, adding at present, Gaza is waiting for urgent and vital humanitarian aid.

Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on Oct. 7, firing thousands of rockets and infiltrating Israeli territory, to which Israel responded with massive airstrikes, limited ground operations and punitive measures, including a siege on the enclave with supplies of water, electricity, fuel, and other necessities being cut off.

The Israel-Hamas conflict, as it entered the 20th day, has killed around 7,028 Palestinians in Gaza and at least 1,400 people in Israel, according to official figures from both sides.
