ISLAMABAD, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- The West Indies Women A cricket team defeated Pakistan on Thursday in the second 50-over match to level the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series 1-1 in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore.
The West Indies won the toss and elected to field first, restricting Pakistan to 188/9 off 50 overs.
Pakistan got off to a strong start with a 62-run opening stand between Eyman Fatima (25) and Shawaal Zulfiqar (32). However, the middle order collapsed, and Pakistan struggled to score runs.
Veteran player Sidra Nawaz scored a crucial half-century (50) to help Pakistan reach 188 runs in total. Ashmini Munisar took three wickets for the West Indies, while Qiana Joseph took two.
The West Indies chased down the target in the final over, losing seven wickets in the process. Rashada Williams was the star for the West Indies with a responsible 71 off 94 balls and was awarded player of the match.
The third and decisive match of the series will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday. ■
