RUOQIANG, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- With an average altitude of 4,580 meters, the Altun Mountains National Nature Reserve covers a total area of 45,000 square kilometers.
The reserve is a representative of the plateau desert ecosystem in China and is home to a wide variety of rare animals.
