COLOMBO, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's health authorities on Monday urged people to be wary of the spread of eye, diarrhea, and respiratory diseases.
The three diseases are spreading due to prevailing inclement weather conditions, B. K. R. Batuwanthudawe, director of the Health Promotion Bureau, told media.
Meanwhile, Upul Rohana, head of the Public Health Inspectors Union, said the spread of these diseases can be minimized by enhancing personal hygiene.
He also said there has been a rise in dengue cases in flooded areas recently. ■
