YANGON, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's authorities have seized 38.82 kg of Happy Water, 5,000 ecstasy pills and 2,200 caffeine tablets in the country's Yangon region and Shan state, said the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on late Thursday.

The country's anti-narcotic police arrested five suspects in connection with the cases, the CCDAC said.

Acting on a tip-off, police confiscated 38.82 kg of Happy Water and 2,200 caffeine tablets in Mingala Taungnyunt, Bahan and Yankin townships in Yangon region on Oct. 14, arresting three suspects, it said.

In addition, police seized 5,000 stimulant tablets in Tachileik township of Shan state on the evening of Oct. 14, arresting two suspects, according to the CCDAC.

The seized narcotic drugs are worth over 1.36 billion kyats (about 647,619 U.S. dollars) in total, it said.

The suspects were charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, it said.
