Over the past decade, the rapid development of cold chain logistics has facilitated the export of Chinese fresh lychees. In 2022, Chinese lychees were exported to over 20 countries and regions. Now it takes only two to four days for lychees to reach Belt and Road partner countries.
Cherries imported from Chile and Argentina via the “Maritime Silk Road” have helped enrich China’s fruit market, particularly during winter vacancy of domestic cherries. In 2022, China’s imported cherries from Belt and Road partner countries exceeded US$2.73 billion.
