BHOPAL, India, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- People celebrated the Hindu festival of Navratri with gusto in Bhopal, capital of India's Madhya Pradesh state, singing and dancing to worship the goddess Durga in her myriad divine forms.
Typically celebrated in the Hindu month of Ashvin, usually in September or October, the nine-night festival symbolizes the perennial triumph of good over evil, epitomized in the veneration of the nine incarnations of Durga.
