BEIRUT, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah on Wednesday attacked the Israeli military site of Al-Jardah near the Lebanese border with guided missiles, claiming the shelling caused "a large number of" casualties among the Israeli forces.

Hezbollah said in a statement that the operation came in response to Israeli attacks on Monday, which killed three Hezbollah members.

Lebanese military sources told Xinhua that Israeli forces responded by shelling several Lebanese areas in southwest Lebanon, targeting the vicinity of the villages of Yarin and al-Dhahira.
