SARI PUL, Afghanistan, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Police have discovered arms and ammunition including RPG-7 in north Afghanistan's Sari Pul province, Din Mohammad Nazari, an official, said on Wednesday.
The contraband, including four pieces of AKM, a machine gun, an RPG-7 rocket launcher and a U.S.-made M16 assault rifle, was recovered during a series of operations in parts of Sari Pul province a couple of days ago, said the spokesperson of the provincial police.
Thousands of bullets and projectiles were also recovered during the operations, the official added.
In a similar crackdown, police discovered arms and ammunition in east Afghanistan's Panjshir Province on Friday. ■
