China's Yan Langyu rallied back from the qualification and claimed the Asiad men's individual trampoline title.
HANGZHOU, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Yan Langyu of China finished 59.850 points to claim the men's individual trampoline gold at the Hangzhou Asian Games here on Tuesday.
With a near-perfect routine in the final, Yan took the title with an unparalleled execution score of 17.00. "My coach told me to focus on the execution, and to win the game was the only thing in my mind," Yan said.
In his first routine during the qualification, Yan only scored 6.800 points, but the 24-year-old calmed down and adjusted quickly to reach the final.
"It was quite nerve-wracking for me, but a very exciting and thrilling process," Yan recalled.

His compatriot Wang Zisai finished eighth with 13.090 points. The 17-year-old explained, "There was a technical problem. I was not in a proper form."
Kazakhstan's Danil Mussabayev grabbed the silver with 57.270 points, while Hiroto Yamada of Japan took the bronze with 57.100 points.
"I wasn't on top of my form today. I am delighted to take this bronze medal back to Japan," Yamada said. ■
