KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan exported 150 tons of dried tomatoes to Europe on Sunday, local official Abdul Ahmad Nazari said on Monday.
Nazari, a member of Public Relation Office of state-owned Spinzar Shirkat, told Xinhua that the shipment had been sent to Europe via central Asian states.
The Kunduz-based corporation was reactivated after decades of war in late March, and it has been engaged in production of cooking oil and soap besides vegetable processing.
Afghanistan also exports a variety of soft drink, dried and fresh fruits, coal, pine nuts and saffron to several countries, including China, Pakistan, India, and Saudi Arabia. ■
