HANGZHOU, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- China's tennis star Zheng Qinwen dominated Lee Ya-hsuan of Chinese Taipei 6-0, 6-2 to enter the last eight of the women's singles, while Wong Chak Lam Coleman of Hong Kong, China upset Chinese Wu Yibing 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(6) in the third round of men's singles at the Hangzhou Asian Games here on Tuesday.
"Whoever the opponent is, I do my best in each game with no regrets at the Asiad," the 20-year-old Zheng said.
The biggest surprise for the Chinese fans on Tuesday was Wu's setback, who missed five match points in the tie-break and failed to move forward.
"His ranking is much higher than me. I was just relaxed to achieve my best point by point," Wong felt motivated after defeating the third seed. "My target is always to enter the next round."
Despite the loss, Wu will continue his Hangzhou Asiad journey in the men's doubles with teammate Zhang Zhizhen.
In other matches, Zhu Lin routed Janice Tjen of Indonesia 6-3, 6-0 to advance in women's singles, and Zhang progressed into the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Indonesia's Muhammad Rifqi Fitriadi in the men's singles.
"As the tournament goes on, I can gradually improve my performance. I have confidence," Zhang noted. ■
