BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat of Malaysia, Johari bin Abdul, on Monday in Beijing.
Hailing the enduring traditional friendship between China and Malaysia, Wang described the important consensus reached by the two countries' leaders on building a China-Malaysia community with a shared future as a vivid illustration of the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness in practicing neighbourhood diplomacy.
China is ready to work with Malaysia to further consolidate political mutual trust and enhance cooperation in various fields, Wang said, adding that the CPPCC National Committee is willing to strengthen exchanges with various sectors of Malaysia including its parliament to advance the building of the China-Malaysia community with a shared future.
Noting that next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, Johari bin Abdul said Malaysia is ready to work with China to promote cooperation in economy, culture and other fields to deepen the Malaysia-China comprehensive strategic partnership. He congratulated China on holding a splendid opening ceremony of the Asian Games.
The parliament of Malaysia is willing to actively engage in friendly exchanges with the CPPCC National Committee to deepen mutual understanding and friendship between various sectors of the two countries, he added. ■
