SHENZHEN, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- Zhejiang FC trounced Shenzhen FC 5-0, while Qingdao Hainiu defeated Nantong Zhiyun 3-1 in the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Sunday.
Zhejiang secured an early lead in the fourth minute with Yao Junsheng's impressive long-range strike. Jean Evrard Kouassi's right-foot volley in the 20th minute, followed by Leonardo's shot in the 31st minute, extended Zhejiang's lead to three goals by halftime.
In the second half, Zhejiang maintained their dominance. Nyasha Mushekwi converted a penalty kick in the 70th minute and added another goal in the 89th minute.
With this victory, Zhejiang now shares the third spot with Shanghai Shenhua. Meanwhile, Shenzhen recorded their eighth consecutive loss, remaining at the bottom of the standings.
In another match on Sunday, following a goalless first half, Evans Kangwa netted two goals to put Qingdao in the lead. Song Wenjie set up Liu Wei in the 88th minute to further Qingdao's lead. However, Romario managed to score for Nantong five minutes later via a penalty kick. ■
