GAZA, Sept. 22, (Xinhua) -- A group of masked Palestinian men on Friday launched fire balloons from the Gaza Strip toward Israel, setting a small piece of forest land in southern Israel on fire, reported Palestinian and Israeli media.
The group of youths, calling themselves "Al-Nasser Grandsons," claimed the attack, noting they targetted Israeli settlements close to the Gaza border, Palestine's Ma'an News Agency reported.
Israeli media reported that a small piece of land in the Kissufim forest was ignited, and firefighters have rushed to the scene.
The incident came when deadly conflicts between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers escalated in and around eastern Gaza over the past two weeks. ■
