DALIAN, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- A fishing boat carrying eight people capsized and sank in the waters off Dalian City in northeast China's Liaoning Province on Saturday morning, according to local maritime authorities. One individual has been confirmed dead and the seven others have yet to be located.
The incident took place at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, when a fishing boat registered in Dandong, Liaoning, collided with a cargo ship off the coast of Dalian, according to the Liaoning Maritime Safety Administration.
The crew of the cargo ship is reportedly safe.
The search and rescue operation is still underway, local authorities said. ■
