HANGZHOU, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- China swept past Mongolia 16-0 while Japan routed Bangladesh 8-0 in their opening games in the Hangzhou Asian Games women's football competition here on Friday.

Eight Chinese players found the net, with Wang Shuang scoring five, and Wang Shanshan, Yan Jinjin, Zhang Xin and Wurigumula all netting twice.

Wang Shuang opened the scoring for China only 87 seconds after kick-off, before the 28-year-old kept her momentum to strike home in the 19th, 26th and 37th minutes.

Wang Shanshan had a brace in the eighth and 31st minutes, while Liu Yanqiu and Yang Lina each scored one in the first half.

Leading 8-0 into the second half, the hosts continued to dominate after the break as Yan Jinjin and Wurigumula helped China build a double-digit lead.

Wang Shuang bagged her fifth goal of the match in the 59th minute. Ou Yiyao found the net before Zhang Xin's goal gifted China a 13-0 lead.

Yan Jinjin, Wurigumula and Zhang Xin each pocketed their second in the last 10 minutes to seal the lop-sided victory for China.

In Group D, Remina Chiba, Momoko Tanikawa and Kotono Sakakibara all scored twice in Japan's 8-0 rout of Bangladesh, while Vietnam outplayed Nepal 2-0.

Group E saw South Korea ease past Myanmar 3-0 while the Philippines upset Hong Kong, China 3-1.

In the men's competition, Uzbekistan edged Hong Kong, China 1-0 in Group C. Qatar and Palestine played out a 0-0 draw in Group D.
