SEOUL, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- A fighter jet of the South Korean air force crashed Thursday in the country's southwestern county, with no casualty reported, according to Yonhap news agency.
The KF-16 fighter jet of the 20th Fighter Wing crashed inside the base in Seosan, about 120 km southwest of the national capital Seoul, while taking off for a mission at around 8:20 a.m. local time (2320 GMT Wednesday).
One pilot on board the ill-fated jet escaped before the crash and was taken to a hospital. No civilian casualty was reported as the combat plane crashed inside the base.
The Air Force was investigating the exact cause of the incident. ■
