KATHMANDU, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Nepali women celebrate the Teej Festival in Kathmandu on Sept. 18. The festival commemorates the reunion of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, following the efforts of Parvati's female friend to help her unite with her beloved.
During the festival celebrated by Hindu women all over Nepal, married women fast and pray for the good health and longevity of their husbands, and unmarried women pray for marrying ideal husbands.
