GUIYANG, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Miao embroidery boutique clothing from Guizhou Province in southwest China will be showcased at an exhibition at the upcoming Milan Fashion Week in Italy.
The Chinese Consulate General in Milan and Guizhou provincial government will co-sponsor the exhibition on Sept. 24, according to Guizhou provincial culture and tourism department.
The Guizhou intangible cultural heritage protection center has handpicked pieces from local cultural centers, Miao embroidery inheritors and private collectors. The exhibits will illustrate the artistic charm and history of this national-level intangible cultural heritage, according to the department.
Looking ahead, the exhibition will inspire the Miao embroidery industry to blend elements of tradition and fashion, and of countryside and cities, and integrate artisan and machinery production, and industry and culture, it said. ■
